Bobcats Game Poll

08/21/2007

I've gone through the Bobcats schedule and pulled out some of the choice home games of the season: The question is, if you could only attend one of them, which would it be? For the most part, the selections are obvious: The Lakers and the chance to see Kobe Bryant play. A quick aside on Kobe: Early in his career, it always bothered me how he seemed to be taking the commercials too seriously, and was trying to "be like Mike" in everything he did. But as he progressed in his career, he seems to be becoming more and more the Bizarro-Jordan: Early Championships (won with the aid of an unparalleled big man in Shaq) and then more and more personal accolades, at the expense of winning. With Jordan, the progression was the opposite, so in Kobe's case, a regression may be a more apt description. Anyway, aside over. Or the chance to watch the Miami Heat, with Shaq and Dwayne "Micheal Corleone" Wade (to Kobe's Sonny). The one concern I would have about circling either of their appearances in the Queen City would be that one or both might be missing with some injury or another. What about the chance to see the high scoring Suns, who are trying to do their part to save the NBA? Or Golden State, the Goliath (Dirk) slayers? Maybe you want to see the King? James, not Elvis, that is. Rounding out my list would be one of the great point guards, in Jason Kidd, and the New Jersey Nets. Who knows, it might even be during the 20 game stretch of the season where Vince Carter tries. So, I want to know what you think, who you would go see. Vote and then use the comments to explain your selection. Or campaign for a write-in candidate. A well-argued case will get them added to the poll. Vote early and check back often for others takes on it.

If you could only watch one game this season, which would it be?

Your Humble Narrator Says: This was tough for me, but I decided that I'd probably want to see one of the best offenses in the NBA, led by a point guard who sees angles and holes that most people never would. Phx 120, Bobcats 121? I could only hope.

Cinderella Says: My vote is for the Lakers, not because of the players but because of the coaching.

Garrett Says: I went with the late season game against the Cavs because by then the Bobcats dominant big men will be hurt. Lebron could then put on a highlight show and it would be entertaining. I know, I have no real basketball knowledge.

Air Bobcat Says: What about Boston? I think that would be a bigger game than GS or NJ.

Your Humble Narrator Says: Air Bobcat: Fair enough, Boston does bring a lot of star power. I included GS just for the chance to see a high scoring, shoot out game, and I included NJ because of the chance to see Jason Kidd. I prefer to watch teams that utilize a pass-first point guard, so that biased my selections.
