Larry Brown's Bobcats - 0-fer (again)

10/20/2008

The Bobcats loss is old news now, I know, but I was out of town this weekend, so I could not help it (it being recapping the game, not the actual loss). Quick thoughts:

Better offense - The best mark of the preseason with 104.3 points per 100 possessions. Largely due to aggressive play leading to high number of ftas, 35 for the game.
Justin Williams - The longshot improved his odds with 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 5 minutes of action.
Raymond Felton shot well - 8 of 16 from the floor. Not sure that I like seeing that many shots coming from him, but with the offense struggling so much up to this point...
The FTAs go both ways - While praising the Bobcats for their aggressiveness leading to free throw opportunities, it is important to note that Atlanta actually took 36 attempts as well...
Bad defense - And all those ftas were a big part of allowing 109.7 points per 100 poss (well, that and the 18 turnovers).

Oh - and ESPN - in your next play by play of the game, make sure to include Justin Williams. It was a real pain having to manually add all of his entries to the play by play file before running the numbers for it. Thanks.
